Abstracts

Short Communications, Round Tables and Posters are collectively termed 'abstracts' because they are classed as 'presentation only' and appear as a single page entry in the conference proceedings under the relevant section. Authors must follow the information provided in the Submission Template and Author Guidelines provided on the Submission page.

Posters

A poster is an opportunity to present a short piece of work that does not fully meet the requirements for published paper, in a visual format. Posters provide an alternative to short communications as a means to have constructive interactions and receive feedback on mathematics education research in its preliminary stages, pilot studies, or ideas for future research.

Posters also provide an alternative to short communications as a means to have constructive interaction and feedback on mathematics education research in its preliminary stages, pilot studies, or ideas for future research. Posters may be mounted (A1 size paper), computer based, suitable for a 3D table display, or other.

Please submit a one page abstract prepared using the conference template, similar to a short communication, and select Poster when submitting online. Not all conferences are able to accommodate posters (depending on space and equipment). If the option to submit a poster is not available then please submit your contribution as a short communication or round table instead.

Poster abstracts are reviewed by the Editorial Team and, if accepted, are published in the conference proceedings.

Presentation of a Poster

Posters may be mounted (A1 size paper), computer based, suitable for a 3D table display, or other, depending on the conference venue. Come prepared to set up or mount your poster on the first day of the conference and ensure it is available for the duration of the conference. During a scheduled poster presentation slot, authors should be available to speak with delegates. Please supply all necessary equipment and notify the conference secretariat of any special requirements (e.g., power socket, table, area on display board and fixative, screen). Authors may wish to bring a handout or a copy of the poster. We suggest you have about 20 copies plus a separate sheet to capture the contact details of any interested delegates.

Posters should be available for the duration of the conference. The conference may set aside a short period (sometimes during lunch) when authors are asked to stand by your poster in order to speak with delegates who wish to ask questions about it and open discussion.
